Do you know the new shape of the solar cells? Read on...

A solar cell is any device that directly converts the energy in light into electrical energy through the process of photovoltaics. The newly invented solar cells are leaf and flower shaped.

Japan’s Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) has developed leaf and flower shaped organic solar cells. An AIST employee displays a prototype model at a solar power exhibition.

This team have created this crazy artificial houseplant with high-efficiency organic thin-film solar cells as leaves. It's got about 58 square centimetres of power-generating area, and each flexible leaf has a complex structure protected by a thin plastic layer. This makes them durable, and the team foresees uses as eco-friendly power generators embedded into buildings, clothes, leisure goods and toys.

England to name new captain

England will name a new captain on Monday after Michael Vaughan decided to step down following his team's series loss to South Africa on Saturday.

Vaughan, 33, England's most successful captain with 26 victories in 51 tests, resigned on Sunday after South Africa took an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

His announcement was followed immediately by the news that one-day captain Paul Collingwood had also decided to quit.

England national selector Geoff Miller will announce who is to captain the England team for the final test at The Oval starting on Thursday and the subsequent one-day series.

Are u addicted to eating rice ? Its for u..Read on..

The human body was never meant to consume rice! You see, our genes have hardly changed in more than 30,000 years. However, our food choices and lifestyle have changed dramatically. The caveman would hardly recognise our food or way of life.Caveman food was never cooked as fire was not yet tamed. Thus, he ate only those foods that you can eat without treatment with or by fire. He ate fruits, vegetables, fish , eggs, nuts and meat.

However, rice, like wheat and corn, cannot be eaten raw. It must be cooked. Even if you were starving in the desert, you cannot eat rice in the raw form. This is because we do not have the system of enzymes to break rice down. You were never meant to eat rice. To make matters worse, you not only eat rice, but also make it the bulk of your food.

U know Rice becomes sugar if consumed in lots!

This is a fact that no nutritionist can deny: rice is chemically no different from sugar. One bowl of cooked rice is the caloric equal of 10 teaspoons of sugar. This does not matter whether it is white, brown or herbal rice. Brown rice is richer in fibre, some B vitamins and minerals but it is still the caloric equal of 10 teaspoons of sugar.

Rice is digested to become sugar.

Rice cannot be digested before it is thoroughly cooked. However, when thoroughly cooked, it becomes sugar and spikes circulating blood sugar within half an hour.

Rice has no fibre. Only the fibre bulks and fills up your stomach. Since white rice has no fibre, you end up eating lots of ‘calorie dense’ food before you get filled up.

Rice is always the main part of the meal. While sugar may fill your dessert or sweeten your coffee, it will never be the main part of any meal. You could eat may be two to three teaspoons of sugar at one meal. However, you could easily eat the equal value of two to three bowls (20-30 teaspoons) of sugar in one meal. I am always amused when I see someone eat sometimes five bowls of rice (equals 50 teaspoons of sugar)

There is no real ‘built in’ mechanism for us to prevent overeating of rice:

In one seating, you cannot take lots of chicken, fish or cucumber, but you can take lots of rice. Eating rice causes you to eat more salt.

As rice is tasteless, you tend to consume more salt-another villain when it comes to high blood pressure. You tend to take more curry that has salt to help flavor rice. We also tend to consume more ketchup and soy sauce which are also rich in salt.

Eating rice causes you to drink less water. The more rice you eat, the less water you will drink as there is no mechanism to prevent the overeating of rice. Rice, wheat and corn come hidden in our daily food. As rice is tasteless, it tends to end up in other foods that substitute rice like rice flour, noodles and bread. We tend to eat the hidden forms which still get digested into sugar. Rice, even when cooked, is difficult to digest.

Can’t eat raw rice? Try eating rice half cooked. Contrary to popular belief, rice is very difficult to digest. It is ‘heavy stuff’. If you have problems with digestion, try skipping rice for a few days. You will be amazed at how the problem will just go away.

Rice prevents the absorption of several vitamins and minerals. Rice when taken in bulk will reduce the absorption of vital nutrients like zinc, iron and the B vitamins..

Are you a rice addict? Here are some strategies that you can pursue in your quest to eat less rice:

Eat less rice-cut your rice by half.

Instead, increase your fruits and vegetables.

Take more lean meats and fish.

You can even take more eggs and nuts.

Have ‘riceless’ meals. Take no rice or wheat at say, breakfast. Go for eggs instead

Avoid the salt shaker or ketchup. You will automatically eat less rice.

Eat fruits first before meals. The fibre rich fruits will ‘bulk up’ in your stomach. Thus, you will eat less rice and more fruits.

It’s your life. Decide what you want to eat!

Anti-Virus rating

The Internet today is a breeding ground for criminal activity. Home users, small and medium businesses and big corporates all suffer from the threat of constant attacks from viruses, worms, Trojans and other malicious code. The only solution ANTIVIRUS softwares. But several antivirus softwares are available and we are baffled which is the best for us.
Some of the qualities on how the antivirus softwares are rated are:
  • Ease of use
  • Effectiveness
  • Easy updation
  • Feature set
  • Ease of installation
  • Help/support
The first three under gold ,silver and bronze categories are
  1. BitDefender
  2. Kaspersky
  3. ESETNod 32
The next in the ratings are:

Heat harvested!!!!

You know nearly 60 per cent of the energy produced by a gasoline engine is lost as waste heat.

Researchers have invented a new material that will make cars even more efficient, by converting heat wasted through engine exhaust into electricity.

Such materials are called as thermoelectric and they rate the materials’ efficiency based on how much heat they can convert into electricity at a given temperature.

The most efficient material used commercially in thermoelectric power generators was an alloy called sodium-doped lead telluride, which had a rating of 0.71. The new material, thallium-doped lead telluride, has a rating of 1.5.

What’s more important is that the new material is most effective between 450 and 950 degrees Fahrenheit — a typical temperature range for power systems.

Only about 25 percent of the energy produced by a typical gasoline engine is used to move a car or power its accessories, and nearly 60 percent is lost as waste heat which escapes in engine exhaust.

A thermoelectric (TE) device can capture some of that waste heat and the material takes care of all the work.

It produces electrical power just like conventional heat engines like steam engines that are coupled to electrical generators.

Such a device is of immense use in our country and the automobile exhaust can be used to produce sufficient watts of electricity.

Construction material using chicken feathers

Can you believe this guys. Instead of wasting all the Chicken feathers construction materials are being made. This makes disposal of large quantities of chicken feathers easy and useful too.

Conventional waste disposal methods cannot be applied to chicken feathers, referring to problems such as burning, burial or recycling the feathers for use in low-quality animal feeds.

Incineration releases greenhouse gases and the chicken feathers take up a lot of space in landfills and take a long time to decay because of the keratin protein that make up the feathers.

There is also the fear of bird flu, which makes converting chicken feathers into animal feeds undesirable. Thus a solution for all this is using the chicken feathers for making construction materials. By this way they are not wasted and disposed in a safe and useful manner.

A Filipino scientist says that he has created a new composite building board made of chicken feathers that could be a major breakthrough for the construction industry.

Experimental boards are made of a mixture of waste chicken feathers and cement . The material, resistant to the region’s termites, is a way to dispose of millions of kg of waste feathers.

The material made of compressed cement and chicken feathers, could be widely used for housing. Boards now made with wood chips, are easily ruined by hungry insects. The composite boards are resistant to insect infestation such as termites because the feathers are inedible.

They are also not as flammable or combustible as conventional cement and wood-fibre composite boards.

Feather boards could be used for paneling, ceilings and as insulation but not for weight-bearing building components like walls or pillars.

My view on Stock Markets

The Wimbledon final between 5-time winner Roger Federer and challenger Rafael Nadal was, in all aspects, a clash of the titans.
For four hours and forty eight minutes the two champions clashed on the fabled grass courts. It was the longest men’s final in the history of Wimbledon.
In the end there was no loser.

But only one person could lift the trophy - and this time it was Rafael Nadal.
And the other winner was the sport of tennis: thousands of children will be inspired to become tennis players.

Two gentlemen traded hard shots for hours - and each applauded the other.

You might be wondering why i started with example.Just read on and you will know why i quoted that example.

"But not all fights are between champions."

"Not all battles are for honour."

"Not all battles are for any justifiable cause."

In the fight between "good" and "evil" one can hardly consider "evil" to be a "champion".

In the stock markets, there is the constant fight over "bulls" and "bears". There is nothing honourable or uplifting about this fight - much if it is driven by money and the desire for returns. Neither are, in the Federer-Nadal sense, "champions". Yet, unfortunately, the money from these financial games has inspired millions to be involved in the financial sector. Most unproductive use of powerful minds.

"Multiple clashes, no champions." Got it now. This is Stock Market.

Vitamin B17 prevents Cancer

Imagine the world without cancer. It has been proven that cancer is a deficiency disease caused by the lack of Vitamin B17 (Laetrile). Vitamin B12 works with folic acid in many body processes including synthesis of DNA, red blood cells and the insulation sheath (the myelin sheath).Today there are more people making money from cancer than dying from it. That is the one of the main reasons why Vitamin B17 is disapproved by FDA and cancer associations. Pharmaceuticals companies pushed FDA to disallow sales of raw apricot seeds in the United States. Raw apricot seeds are known to have abundance of B17 vitamin. There is lots of money to make from patented drugs and if we all start eating raw apricot seeds then there will be no profit. This information is not a new breaking research, but only trying to spread the truth about Vitamin B17 through the Internet.

Dont reply to Spam messages

Spam is unsolicited e-mail on the Internet. Spam is the email equivalent of junk email or nuisance phone calls. Spam can simply be defined as all unsolicited electronic mail sent out in bulk to individuals/organisations that have not consented to receive it.

From the sender's point-of-view, it's a form of bulk mail, often to a list culled from subscribers to a Usenet discussion group or obtained by companies that specialize in creating e-mail .

Spam is
any activity designed to trick the search engines into giving a site a higher ranking. Common tactics include hiding keywords as white text on a white page background, submitting a web page to a search engine daily, and building doorway pages.
Have you people replied for any spam messages.Or had a thought about it? Then i need to tell u this important information.I came across this fact so thought of sharing it with everyone.Replying more than 100 times to the same piece of spam e-mail will overwhelm the sender's system and interfere with their ability to send any more spam.
So be careful friends.
